Public rooms search: Spinner stays forever

Description

If you make a search in the public room directory and if the result contains a small number of rooms, the spinner stays forever.

This may be related to the `testPublicRooms` and `testSearchPublicRooms` tests that currently fails in the SDK(#1797).
