Muted mic not aligning with clicking mute button, plus other participants audio seeming to mute when changing my own mute

### Steps to reproduce

1. Where are you starting? What can you see?
- In app call, initiated by somebody else.
2. What do you click?
- mute button, until I actually got scared of clicking it 'cause it seemed to interrupt other participants' audio stream.
- also my mic muting didn't sync up with my button clicking/local UX, so people only heard part of what I came off mic to say
