Backticks work unreliably

The `Into`s written in the screenshotted messages below had backticks, however they seem to behave differently?

Doesn't make sense to me that the first one displays "Into" and the later does display the f32 bit. Maybe it gets processed differently based on the presence of the mention?

Inconsistent output.

(I'm willing to provide a PR with enough info on how to solve the problem, but I haven't looked at the codebase in depth, so the "yes" below is conditional :))
