No rooms visible on new install

I just installed RiotX and found I had only one room and 5 messages. That room is a low priority one (Matrix Dev) and is closed.
That made me think that the sync was taking ages, I waited a while....
I then realised I needed to press the # button to see rooms.
Perhaps, for new installs, the default view should be the # view rather than the home view.
