Description
### Your use case
I see that friends find it difficult to connect, simply because they both have the app downloaded and click "invite friend" and get confused about having to download the app again.
People who are not technical at all, can't figure out how to separate the ID out from the link and start at conversation.
It's also not obvious to people that they have to start a conversation to find friends.
#### What would you like to do?
When there's nobody in the contact list, I think it would be an opportune moment to emphasize ways to connect with people.
#### Why would you like to do it?
I think it's important for the appeal to the broader masses, to make it even easier to connect with others.
#### How would you like to achieve it?
Could be as simple as a text in place of the contact list, explaining how inviting people works.
Could be more complicated, a visual guide in place of the contact list, guiding people around in the menus.
Maybe the invite function should be split in one for inviting friends with and without Matrix.
### Have you considered any alternatives?
Something has to change, because real people can't figure it out.
### Additional context
I really try to promote your platform, but it's hard when people can't connect to each other, then they give up.
### Are you willing to provide a PR?
Yes
