Screen flashes white whist using dark theme

### Steps to reproduce

1. Set the app to use dark theme
2. Open a room
3. Press [back] to return to the room list

### Outcome

#### What did you expect?

I expected not to be blinded.

#### What happened instead?

The entire screen flashes white for a second before fading to the intended background colour as the room list loads in.
