Unstable sort and rooms cross-contaminated in filters

### Steps to reproduce

1. Use new app layout
1. Click between filters
1. Notice how they update from under you without any interaction. It also seems to be swapping between all and unread in the list without changing the tab

### Outcome

#### What did you expect?

Stable sort and no flashing back and fourth

#### What happened instead?

Very unstable and showing results from other tabs (contaimination).
