Description

### Steps to reproduce

Note: I saw this only once and did not try to reproduce, I got screenshots at the end but the middle I will have to describe from memory. I will mark "no logs" because this was last night and I did not get logs at the time.

I previously used Element both in the web browser (app.element.io) and on an old phone. I never verified my phone account on the web browser, and the old phone is no longer in use (so there is still an unconfirmed phone sitting in the element settings right now, I haven't gotten around to dismissing it).

I have a new phone on which I installed Element yesterday. On opening, it popped up a suggestion that I authenticate the phone app on my browser. This seemed reasonable so I opened up the browser and authenticated. This involved scanning a QR code and then verifying that a shield icon was identical. I then, if I remember correctly, put the phone in sleep mode. A couple hours later while using my phone I entered the Element app and saw this: **1.**

At this point I was completely locked out of the app. The only option was to click "skip". On clicking skip I got this screen **2.**

"Continue" brought me back to the previous screen so my only option was to use Skip.

### Outcome

Expected behavior: Confirming the device should have caused the "please confirm" box to auto dismiss.

Observed behavior: Not only did the box not auto dismiss, on clicking "skip" it did not re-check and I was given a direly worded warning which was not, as far as I can tell, actually accurate as this device had in fact been confirmed.
