Description

The more I use message bubbles on Element, the more I wish the max width was a bit larger. Comparing to other messaging apps, the max width in Element leaves a space between the edge of the bubble closest to the edge of the screen opposite the sender's avatar and the edge of the screen opposite the sender's avatar that's about 3x larger.

In my mind, this is wasted screen real estate, makes bubbles taller than needed and makes the user unnecessarily scroll more to view previous messages. Given that Android is in the vast majority of cases used on screens with limited screen width, the likelihood of introducing information overload by making the aforementioned space between bubble and screen edge about 1/3 the size it is now is very slim.
