Pinch to zoom is flaky and overly sensitive to swiping to the next image

### Steps to reproduce

1. Tap an image to view it larger
2. Use standard two-finger gestures to zoom in and out

### Outcome

#### What did you expect?
The image zooms in and out naturally, similar to all other image viewing behavior on android apps

#### What happened instead?
Sometimes the gesture doesn't zoom the image in/out properly. Multiple attempts are needed. Sometimes it zooms in/out only a little bit and stops. Sometimes the image is inadvertently swiped instead of zoomed, and I'm looking at the next/previous image in the room.
