No updates

### Steps to reproduce

There is no updates in rooms or in conversations. The only way I am aware of to update is to do an "init sync" (either legacy or optimized), or try to get previous uncached messages in a room (which triggers an update?).

I'm using GrapheneOS without the google play store. Element Android is from the play store (using Aurora Store, anonymous login). Phone is the Google Pixel 6.
