Scanning QR code for cross signing didn't work first time

#### Describe the bug
Session verification has hickups. QR code didn't work first time, it's also (unrelated to this issue) difficult to figure out verification at a later time if it's skipped on first run.

NOTE: I cannot reliably reproduce this!

#### To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
1. Install a new android app
2. Log into an existing account
2. "Verify this login"
3. See "Verification requested(1/2)" popup in Android
4. Go through the verification process
4. Try to scan the QR code from phone
5. Scan looks like it completed. At this point I was returned to the previous view, asking me to take a photo

#### Expected behavior
Next step to happen or error to show up about the QR code.
