Not able to join XMPP bridged room using Element Android app

In the Element Android app(both PlayStore and F-Droid versions), I cannot join a room hosted on XMPP by manually typing the address of the room. If someone gives me the link to the room, then it gets joined.

I used this documentation https://github.com/matrix-org/matrix-bifrost/wiki/Address-syntax to create the matrix address of the XMPP hosted room.
