Error message when entering plaintext HTTP HS URL is misleading

#### Describe the bug
If you enter a plaintext `http://` URL for the homeserver on the login screen, it claims there's no internet connection, but it looks like the policy is just rejecting plain HTTP connections(ie. when I enter an https url for the same host, it works). It would be good if the error message was more accurate.
