Room previews can "freeze", and not update while the rest of the room does

#### Describe the bug
Occasionally, the conversation preview mode can get "stuck" on a message - not updating at all, until Element's cache is cleared.

#### To Reproduce
I am not entirely sure how to reproduce. It occurs frequently for me, and remains persistant until the cache is cleared though.

#### Expected behavior
The message preview should update to show the latest message.

#### Screenshots
Here's a screenshot showing what I mean - Matrix HQ is a busy room, and my reaction yesterday certainly wasn't the last event. Clicking on the room functions normally and shows all the messages.
