Edit not visible until app data are manually removed and I re-logged into my server

Someone edited their message to fix a typo.
On Element web, I see the edit.
On Element Android, I only see the original message, as if it was never edited.

I tried clearing the app cache, but it did not change anything.
I then tried to remove all app data (Clear Storage button in the Android app info), and after re-logging into my server, I now see the edit.

In case it's useful: the edit was made ~3min after the initial message, but I only noticed the bug several days later, when scrolling up.

#### Smartphone:
- Device: OnePlus 5 and an unknown Xiaomi (bug reproduced on 3 phones)
- OS: Android 10 (at least on the OnePlus 5)

#### Additional context
- App version: 1.1.6 from the app store
- Homeserver: matrix.x2a.yt (private server)
