App crashes andorid when trying to verify my login!

This is a very strange bug. When i login to my account and logout of it and then back it, it tells me i need to verify my login. I click on it and i have previously setup my recovery phrase(on this device itself). So now it asks me for my recovery phrase. I type it in and press verify. It says "Calculating recovery key" with a square progress bar beneath it. Strange? On element linux desktop client this is nearly instantanous, let alone seeing a progress bar. And as soon as the progress bar finishes, my phone's screen goes blank and restarts.

I have a [Huawei Y6II](https://consumer.huawei.com/mu/phones/y6ii/specs/) and i didn't see this bug reported anywhere else. I also had this issue in older versions(since 1.0.17, which is the first time i used the android app) and now today in version 1.1.6 i still have this issue.

I have tried doing this procedure with my matrix.org account and verification still crashes android. I also have a private matrix server in a LAN and that crashes too. Everything else works fine, it is just when i want to verify my login. My workaround for now is to just press skip(and then it prompts again and i also press skip) and then to just go into Settings > privacy > cross signing and then to just reset those.

So to sum up:
1. I have an account on matrix.org / my own homeserver, that i registered from my phone.
2. I have setup a recovery phrase for all my accounts on my device itself
3. When i login, it asks to verify my login from another device or to use a recovery phrase/key
4. I choose use recovery phrase, because thats what i setup.
5. I type in my phrase and it "calculates" my recovery key. (but on desktop clients this never happens, or maybe the faster cpu calculates it instantanously)
6. As soon as the progress bar finishes, my phone crashes. Not the app, but rather android itself. My phone goes blank and restarts.
7. When i go back into matrix, everything seems okay. In settings > privacy > cross signing it says that my keys are trusted and no one has my privates keys and i have a green shield. So i assume it must have worked?
8. One note though. In 1.0.17 my phone would crash immediately, but in the newer 1.1.6 when the progress bar finishes, it would take me back to the messages area where the "verify login" message was(and still is) and it would freeze for a few seconds and then crash.

I am not an expert but i think sense the problem is probably with the calculation. Maybe it is doing and illegal operation that my phone's CPU can't handle? Or something along those lines.
