Description
#### Describe the bug
When selecting a mention pill in the menu, it shows up twice in the composer (and acts as if it's one mention when back-spacing over it), and results in a text-only mention.
#### To Reproduce
This is a flakey problem, i suspect it's because of my particular client's state view, i can't reproduce it in any room.
This happens in `#fluffychat:matrix.org`, when trying to mention `@sorunome:sorunome.de`
