Immediate FC due to missing directory

**Describe the bug**

I have recently attempted to switch from RiotX to Element on two Android phones I look after. On one of them the upgrade has gone without a hitch, on the other however Element force-closes immediately after start-up. Having fired up logcat on that phone I found out that the problem is... missing _/data/user/0/im.vector.app/files_. Neither reinstalling Element nor switching from the F-Droid version to the Google Play one hasn't helped.

Any idea what the problem might be, guys? Let me know if you need more information.

**To Reproduce**
1. Install Element
2. Try to start it

**Expected behavior**
Element starts and allows me to sign in to a Matrix homeserver.

**Smartphone (please complete the following information):**
- Device: Motorola Z2 Play
- OS: Android 8.1

**Additional context**
- App version and store: 1.0.5 - both F-Droid and Play Store
- Homeserver: N/A
