Latest version can't verify desktop login

Apologies if this was a duplicate, but I searched and didn't find any other recent issues on this. (Closest was #1626 which could be related I guess?)

Since the RiotX -> Element transition, Element can no longer verify my desktop login sessions. It's quite easy to reproduce, and I know at least one other person who has had this happen:

- Attempt to sign in to the Element desktop app / web site.
- Let the device verification prompt appear on desktop.
- Open Element.
- Verification request doesn't appear.

If I, however, open the old version of RiotX (which I've left installed specifically for this purpose, was on version 0.22), the verification request *does* appear there immediately.
