Button to properly close the app and stop its background services

I currently do not continuously use RiotX (or Elements) as my main chat app, but only need it at certain times for certain use cases.
Having started the app once, it continues to listen in background all the time, draining battery, leeching traffic and sending me unwanted notifications. The only way to properly close it is the force termination via the Android settings.
The old Riot Android still had a button for properly closing the app. I am missing that feature in the new implementation.
