Unable to self verify (also legacy style)

At the moment I have both Riot.im and RiotX installed on my phone. If I try to verify my Riot.im device from within RiotX, I don't see a verification message pop up in Riot.im, thus my Riot.im device can never be verified with the new cross signing system. I also no longer have the manual verification option where I can force it to be a trusted device from my end (similar to just switching the verification slider on signal without having to actually go through the verification process using the shared keys).

It basically shows a "To be secure, verify @[user] by checking a one-time code" but I never get any notifications in the old Riot.im for this.
