Opening a room, and then leaving the app causes odd behaviours when resumed

I opened a DM with someone, and every time I take focus away from the app it will either lock up for 5s-10s and disallow any input, or even just lose state for the room entirely and I have to wait for it to pull state about the room so it can show me the history of the room and the input field.

Ideally, I could swap between apps and RiotX would hold state in memory so resuming chat would be seamless. I'm not sure why it loses state if I leave the app briefly. I do have a large account, however
