## Value Proposition
The initial [Data Federation](https://github.com/elastic/roadmap/issues/307) Tech Preview supports Amazon S3. Customers running on GCP or Azure need the same capability for their object storage — without it, Data Federation is limited to AWS-only estates.
## Expected Outcome
ES|QL Data Federation extends to Google Cloud Storage and Azure Blob Storage, giving customers multi-cloud coverage with the same dataset-as-virtual-index model, format support, and query experience available for S3.
