**Value proposition**
IL5 is the highest DoD security baseline for unclassified data. It builds on FedRAMP High with additional DoD-specific controls, including isolation from non-DoD tenants and US-person access restrictions. It lets the DoD, military services, and defense contractors use Elastic for higher-sensitivity Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and unclassified National Security Systems, workloads FedRAMP High alone does not cover.
**Expected outcome**
DoD mission owners can adopt Elastic for mission-critical use cases such as AI-powered Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Zero Trust visibility, mission search, and logging compliance without building their own authorization from scratch. This opens defense workloads that are contractually closed to Elastic today.
