Description

Currently, the EmbeddedEditorFactory class does not support configuring the overview ruler, see EmbeddedEditorFactory.java#L244

This should be implemented if the caller configure the EmbeddedEditorFactory by calling e.g. a method like .showOverviewRuler() the overview ruler should be present on the embedded editor.

The following picture demonstrates the current (left side) and the desired (right side) behavior:

Research direction

Start in org.eclipse.xtext.ui/src/org/eclipse/xtext/ui/editor/embedded/EmbeddedEditorFactory.java around line 244 and inspect how the EmbeddedEditorFactory configures embedded editors. Trace the existing configuration methods and determine how an opt-in showOverviewRuler-style setting should be represented. Done means callers can enable the option and the embedded editor displays the overview ruler, while existing callers remain unchanged.
