Runtime configuration parser for backend

We have multiple backend that could be enabled or disabled during build time
Each backend have custom configuration needs which must be supported with its corresponding parsing ability

How custom configuration can be part of crypto configuration? Will it be separate from the normal crypto config?
How is the custom configuration present and identified during the parsing time?
