Description

Since the installation of Eclipse 2022-09, I have this issue with a large maven multi-module project. I set a custom Java Code-Style
Formatter template :

But individual projects are regularly polluted with a custom per-project unmanaged profile:

---

I try either to uncheck the Project Specific settings, or set on a per-project basis my custom template, but after some time (and some not-identified operation/time), it gets back the Unmanaged profile.

A restart may or may not break again my setup. I doubt this is related with m2e, as I do not know how to setup this parameter through a maven plugin. Also, this does not happen with a different project with similar setup (in the same workspace).

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue in Eclipse 2022-09 with a large Maven multi-module project and the custom Java Code-Style Formatter template. Track which operation causes the project-specific setting to return to the unmanaged profile; done means the selected formatter setting remains unchanged after those operations and a restart.
