Description

Once I get overlays working... how about one for the IR sensor?
- Not sure if support for IR is available in the kernel and /or userland?
- The D1 has IR hardware onboard and it can be mapped to the GPIO connector.,
- Afik It just needs a IR sender/receiver and resistors to wire it up.
- If someone wants to work on this I'll add it to the repo.

Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are mentioned. Start by investigating whether kernel or userland support for the IR hardware exists and how existing overlays handle the D1's GPIO connector; done would mean a working IR overlay with the required sender/receiver wiring documented.
