Description
Currently effectsize has some failing builds on Cran.
https://cloud.r-project.org/web/checks/check_results_effectsize.html
This is due to using a function from the BayesFactor package.
I submitted a pull request to fix that issue which should ultimately fix the issue in effectsize.

Research direction
Start with the CRAN check results for effectsize and inspect the BayesFactor pull request #175 linked in the issue. There is no effectsize file or test named to change; completion would be confirming that the upstream fix lands and the effectsize CRAN checks recover.
