Description
Sadly, a stranger entered our workshop when the road-facing door was open and stole my Gimbal off my desk. 😢
So installed a security camera in a spot that captures the majority of our tools. 🛠️
It’s currently just running off a USB port on the socket splitter which isn’t great in a power outage. 🙈
So I bought an affordable (€40) 650W UPS with decent reviews and will be plugging the camera into it.
The camera only draws 10W of power (peak!) so this UPS will last for literally _days_! ⏳
I might end up connecting another low-power device to it. TBD… for now, just gotta get the UPS working as the power source for the camera. 👌
# TODO
- [x] Measure the available space above the AirCon Split -> 130mm
- [x] Measure how long the cable needs to be -> 1200mm with the first 100mm stripped.
- [x] ~~***Cut*** the UPS’ power cable and connect directly to mains? ***Or***~~ use a female socket for future-proofing?
- [x] Connect G4 Instant’s USB adapter to UPS
- [x] Connect G4 Instant to Adapter to power it
- [x] Test!
- [x] Tidy!
Budgeting T1h to get this done this evening. ⏳👌
