Kindle/e-books or physical books?

Linked to https://github.com/dwyl/home but I thought this might be the right place to open this issue as it's very much about something we encourage everyone to do: ***read broadly as a foundation*** to their _lives_ as well as their careers/work.

I _love_ physical books, there's really nothing better than the sensation of turning a page, writing notes in the margin (in pencil, I'm not a barbarian 😆) and for _reference_, flicking through the pages is SUPER useful. You tend to know roughly _where_ something is and flipping to it with the context of the surrounding paragraphs is great.

HOWEVER, there is a _lot_ of practicality in ebooks:
+ Being able to read one-handed or in _any_ position (it's hard to underline if you're reclining back)
+ Having a compilation of your notes at the end of the book
+ `Popular highlights` on the Kindle and certain e-book readers are always fun
+ Transportability

I hypothesise that all of this will actually encourage me to read _more often_!
Of course there are _some_ books (and actually quite a few _technical_ books) that don't work particularly well in terms of display on e-book readers.

I have been considering buying a Kindle but there are two things holding me back: being able to easily have the book available to share with _anyone_, regardless of their equipment (hence the link to https://github.com/dwyl/home) and the ease of flipping through for reference.

What are _your_ thoughts?
