Description
In case wifi goes down or you're in an area without reliable wifi, you can often get cheap-ish prepaid sim deals for tethering (e.g. in Colombia £10 for 2gb). This would comfortably last me 7 working days (full time tethering) including Google Meet (Hangouts) in the morning if I adjusted Google Meet to the lowest bandwidth via settings. I met some digital nomads who had sims with all the major network providers so they could swap sim cards depending on signal strength in a certain region.
If you're on the go, you can also use nperf to find out which areas have good enough coverage e.g. https://www.nperf.com/en/map/CO/-/-/signal/. For me 3G with full bars was more than enough for work. 4G was a bonus! I would also do an internet speed test on arriving somewhere new so I could figure out my plan B if the coverage wasn't good enough.
