Create a Collection of RegEx Patterns from good sources with tests?

We are searching for a good regex for checking url validity: https://github.com/dwyl/pwb/issues/11

There will be _many_ other regex patterns we will need/use in our projects.
Wouldn't it be great if there was a repository to find them quickly?
