Description

Researching which `VPS` service to use instead of `Fly.io` for the `MVP`, `Auth` and `Hits` apps (which keep crashing!).

https://www.netcup.com/en/server/vps

On the _surface_ this is more expensive than `OVH` https://github.com/dwyl/learn-devops/issues/64#issuecomment-4243293856
But when you factor the price of `Block Storage` (i.e. `NVMe` attached to the `VM`), then `Netcup` becomes considerably more competitive.

> Hand't heard of them. But read that they support `NetBSD` via: https://www.reddit.com/r/freebsd/comments/ui9z0m/digital_ocean_stops_supporting_bsds/

> They don't _directly_ support `OpenBSD` but they don't _prevent_ it.
There's a Networking Workaround article: https://www.netcup.com/en/helpcenter/documentation/server/connect-open-bsd

My only "_concern_" with `Netcup` is their lack of availability zones:
https://www.netcup.com/en/about-netcup/server-locations

It's _good_ that they have `Singapore` availability zone for `Asia`, but they charge literally double the price for it! 🙃

And nothing in `Africa` ... 🤷‍♂️
But that _shouldn't_ be a problem.
Once we have actual _customers_ in `Africa`, we can revisit/research: https://www.reddit.com/r/askSouthAfrica/comments/1lkkm03/any_good_vps_hosting_in_south_africa/

For now, I think just having `US` and `EU` AZs will be "enough" to have reasonably high availability.
