Description
Describe the bug
Hi,
I'm finding that duck.ai frequently discards my prompt, resetting to the landing screen.
How to Reproduce
Here is a way I've found to trigger this deterministically. There may be other ways too.
- Launch duck.ai from the home screen shortcut I created:
That takes you to this screen:
(side-question, why didn't it take me directly to AI mode?)
- Tap the
Duck.aitab at the top.
That lands us here:
- Type a prompt, like so:
- Tap the blue arrow
This lands us at this screen, and the prompt has disappeared into a void:
(If you re-type your prompt here, it will work -- it only seems to be an issue with the first prompt box UI. I'm not sure why there are two kinds of prompt entry UIs)
Expected behavior
- tapping duck.ai home shortcut takes me directly to duck.ai
- submitting a prompt should not discard the prompt
(Thanks for DDG browser -- It's great!)
Environment
- DDG App Version: 5.279.1
- Device: Samsung A34 5G
- OS: Android 16

Research direction
Reproduce on the Samsung A34 5G with Android 16 using the home-screen shortcut, then inspect the initial Duck.ai prompt box and its submission flow. Done means the shortcut opens Duck.ai directly and the first submitted prompt is preserved and processed instead of resetting to the landing screen.
