Faciltate end-user installation with a `makefile`

@EliverLara, I've noticed a lot of open issues that can be fixed with a proper install. Therefore, I propose making a unified automated approach. I suggest [a `make` file](https://www.gnu.org/software/make/manual/make.html) that is pretty universal and standard. Furthermore, a `make` file can help package maintainers across distros maintain their packages downstream.

I'll be opening a draft PR here shortly with what I have so far. Would love your comments. 🤝

Start with the GNU make manual linked in the issue and inspect the repository's current installation approach. Define the unified automated workflow and its package-maintainer expectations before implementation; done means end users have a documented, working installation path and downstream maintainers can use the same approach.
