Cannot open generated file from XAML

The Visual Studio 2019 v16.9.0 update added a new feature to open generated files from Solution Explorer. Now, when I click 'Go to Definition (F12)' on the class name, a list of parts of the class open and I can proceed to the generated part. The same list opens if I go to the class definition in the XAML file (WPF project). However, I cannot proceed to the generated part of the class (nothing happens when I click).
