Automated SDK installation for the distro Debian GNU/Linux is not officially supported?

### Describe the bug.

Using VS Code on a Raspberry Pi 5 with it's arm64 OS. I keep having issues running the .Net Install Tool, C#, and C# Dev kit extensions? When trying to install the .NET 8 SDK, I receive: "An error occurred while installing .NET: The distro Debian GNU/Linux 12 does not officially support dotnet version 8.0.100." I also keep getting other errors pertaining to Roslyn. some errors shown in images in the attached files
