See commit ID in uppercase

Description
Is there anything we can add to our project files or to `Directory.Build.props` that will change the displayed commit ID into uppercase?
Here's what we see now:
I'd like this to be` E8D2513EA7...`
Also is there any easy way to get at that string and perhaps format it differently?
