Description
_This issue has been moved from [a ticket on Developer Community](https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/t/Show-References-bug-when-file-nesting-is/10931523)._
---

When having multiple files referencing the same class, partial classes and sub classes, the references show a path different from the actual file path. The tooltip shows the correct path though.
Here, `CirContext.cs` is the main file, there are files which have more sub-parts for nesting. The file shown here is `CirContext.Repositories.Sap.BladeIndexes.cs`, there are also `CirContext.Repositories.cs` and `CirContext.Repositories.Sap.cs` but those do not build the path as shown in the first line of the references window.

Thank you for taking the time to respond, let me understand clearly your issue is that from this image, CirContext.cs and CirContext.Repositories.cs is missing or not allign with the tooltip (whitebox)? if i’m understand it wrong, could help please to clarify on the issue. In the meantime, if you are able to provide us sample file that allow us to reproduce this issue, it would be helpful.
