Sample default folder location for different Operating systems

To know where the folders would be normally would be helpful.
Especially for systems you currently can't test on.

e.g. where does Environment.SpecialFolder.ApplicationData point on Linux or Mac?

Can some folders be not supported on an OS and how to check this?
