Description

I've been scouring the Internet for clarity on whether ClearType supports BGR monitors (seems like almost all 4K 43" screens currently use BGR pixel subpositioning, along with many others). Some posts seem to say yes (at least in new versions of Windows), but others say that ClearType natively only supports RGB displays.

A related question is if a user has multiple monitors where one is RGB another is BGR, will ClearType work properly for both, or can it only support one pixel rendering method at a time? What about if a monitor is in portrait mode or upside down (which I think is equivalent to BGR)?

This page would be the ideal place for Microsoft to provide clarity on this issue.
