Feature request: Use dotnet-tools cross container without requiring a file-mount

We heard from a customer that they wanted to quickly put a side-container into a pre-existing environment and run diagnostics tools from it. Needing to mount a shared filesystem location makes this workflow more awkward. If we can find a communication mechanism that doesn't require the file mount it would make this easier.
