Description
Problem
The current breadcrumb bar in the prodcut doesn't show a consistent behavior throughout it all so it cannot be truted by users. It also doesn't reflect the current place in your overall navigation, so the user can't really reli on it for orientation.
Goal
The overall vision is that the user consistently finds the breadcrumb bar in the same place helping him orient himself in the product and also helping him navigate back to previous pages using the breadcrumb.
Target Personas
- Developer teams
- Content teams
- DevOps teams
- System administrators (dotCMS)
Demo Expectations
Navigate to several main pages in the prodcut and show how the breadcrumb bar consistently behaves and reflects location. Then open the content drive and open a folder, then navigate into another folder then finally open a content item inside that folder and show how the breadcrumb bar shows the appropriate breadcrumbs as you drill into the tree.

Research direction
Start by navigating several main product pages, then use the content drive to open nested folders and a content item, as described in the demo expectations. Done means the breadcrumb bar appears consistently, reflects the current location, and supports navigation back through the folder and page hierarchy.
