Noisy audio when recording/playback through simulator

Description
Whenever Audio is recorded through the simulator (tested on MBP M4 Max) using Intellij, the played back audio sounds noisy and grainy. I suspect it's something to do with the format of the audio recorded through the macbook hardware being interpreted wrong by Android internally. Not sure why this is happening exactly.
