- [x] The issue can be reproduced on a stable release of Emacs, such as 27, 28, or 29. *(Unstable versions end in .50, .60, or .9x)*
### Expected behavior
When I have a branch name in git like that `my-general-branch-name`. So I expected that modeline will display branch name as is.
### Current behavior
For now, it strips branch name to `my`.

### Steps to reproduce
create git branch, that contains dashes `-`, i.e. `some-branch-name`.
