- [X] The issue can be reproduced on the **latest** available commit of Doom.
- [X] The issue can be reproduced on a stable release of Emacs, such as 27, 28, or 29. *(Unstable versions end in .50, .60, or .9x)*
### Expected behavior
Ligature should look normal
### Current behavior
When I open emacs, sometimes this is what I see

Notice the extra spacing at the end of each ligature. This behavior happens regardless whether I configure `ligature.el` directly or through doom module.
### Steps to reproduce
1. open Emacs
2. stare at the extra spacing

Research direction
Start with the supplied system information and reproduce the issue in a stable Emacs using either ligature.el directly or the Doom module. Compare the rendering across repeated launches and configurations; done means ligatures consistently render without the reported extra spacing.
