Description
GitHub offers a a set of privacy features to use a private email address to log in, and a public or throwaway email address in git commits made from the command line or from the GitHub website.

Here's what it looks like for me.
It was not enabled by default.
Additionally, if you enable said features you get the following option enabled by default to stop pushes from your private email address:
