Selecting a tag and then navigating to file upload results in error

Description
To repro:
1. Select a tag from the releases tab
2. Click on the pencil icon next to the table
3. Click on spreadsheet editor and try changing a cell
4. Get error
We may need a check somewhere that the ref being passed along to the file upload page is actually a branch
